Let there be \(6\) employees in the co.

\(3\) earn \(>18000\)

\(1\) (1/3rd of remainder 3 employees) earn between 18000 & 15000

Hence \(2\) earn less than 15000

so fraction earning less than 15000 \(= \frac{2}{6}=\frac{1}{3}\)

total employees : 100x

with more than equal to 18000 = 50x

in range 15000 - 18000 = 50x/3

less than 15000 = 100x - 50x - 50x/3

fraction = less than 15000 / 100x = 1/3

If we know the no of employees this question could be solved easily.
Let the of employee be 6
so, only 3 employee get more than 18000 as 1/2 of the employee get more than 18000.
no the no. of remaining employee is 3.
only 1 employee get get his salary between 15000 and 18000 as only 1/3 of the remaining employees fall under this categories.

so, the no. of employee who get less than 15000 is 2.

so, required fraction: 2/6

=1/3
