Hi all,
Had a couple of questions. I'll truly appreciate a response.
I have submitted my application for the 1Y program. Can anyone please tell me:
1. Historically, what are the approx number of applications for the 1Y program (for a total of 100 seats)
2. How many confirmations do they make and how many do they put on waiting-list (specific to the 1Y please)
3. Does the selection of a specialization - Strategy/ Marketing/ Finance have any material impact on the application
4. I submitted my application on the 15th of October, but had put in my off-campus preference (Kuwait) way before (arnd 2nd September). Moreover, they had approved that I meet the eligibility criteria on the 5th of September. I am quite confused with the Part-1/ Part-2 submission thing, as the only submit button I found on the application form was at the end.
Thanks,
Hi-
I am also a 1Y applicant that just submitted my app last week. I don't think Kellogg publishes most of the information you are asking about in Questions 1&2 but their class profile page gives some rough indications:
https://www.kellogg.northwestern.edu/programs/fulltimemba/about_our_students/incoming_class_profile.aspxThat page is outdated (2012 Entrants) but indicates ~5000 total applications, of which ~4500 were for 2Y and MMM program, so the # 1Y applicants was probably less than 500. I don't think specialization matters unless they are trying to diversify and balance the class profile.
For #4, Kellogg used to have a 2-part application where you would ask for interviews and pay for the app in part 1 (normally due in Sept) but this year they consolidated both parts into one (due in Oct). I don't think they would start to look for interview pairings until you submit and pay for the application, even if you already received eligibility confirmation awhile ago, so I wouldn't have expected you to receive communication prior to this week.
Hope that helps.
