So, I had my video essay waived, but just received an email encouraging me to submit it by November 4th as it's now working. Argh! Did anyone else get it waived and receive this email?

Yep, me too and deadline is on same date. Wonder if that is the only component left in my review now :-).

Yes. Although the message has the tone of 'IF you want to submit....', I'm pretty sure that we 'need' to submit it by 4th. Unless one faces an extenuating circumstance, it probably makes sense to submit this.

I received it due by Nov. 4 too. Debating whether to do it or not. Pain in the ass.
Is everyone submitting the video?

I got the email to do the video essay by 4 Nov too. I don't mind giving it another try (hope it'll work this time) but it's just so disorganized! This doesn't give me a good impression of Kellogg's admission office at all.

I guess issues are always there with trying out something new like this. At least they are trying their best to provide a second opportunity to those who faced issues to make it a level playing field for all. Perhaps it also points to the fact that they are treating the Video section with high importance as part of the evaluations.

Did anyone try answering the video essay????
I'm facing the same problem as before:

1. When I click on START OVER, it gives the error message "403 Forbidden - No more recording attempts are permitted"
2. When I check the acknowledgement button and click READY, it gives the error message "The recording process was initiated more than 180 seconds ago, and this recording attempt has now been closed"

Have written to the Adcom.

I was sent an off-campus interview invitation, but my interviewer has not responded to my e-mail. Is there a protocol that I should follow when sending a reminder e-mail (or if I should at all)?

Anyone for the JD/MBA program?

Hey chess, I'm a JD/MBA applicant here too. I applied to another school's joint program and may apply to one more. Aside from that b and law schools independently.

Had my interview yesterday. It was slightly more formal that I'd hoped.

*fingers crossed now*

Any idea when they usually start releasing decisions? The wait till 18th December, as per their website, sounds arduous.

I think I read somewhere that you needed to let the admissions know if you didn't get a response from the alumnus within a week. But, I would send a reminder before doing this. There's no real protocol that you need to follow beyond a few days - a mail not answered in the first 4 days will most likely never be answered.

Hi, Zinihelm, good luck!!
I haven't received any interview invite/ request from Kellogg yet. Do you have any idea about it?? If i am dinged, or should still wait for an interview invite/ waiver??

according to my understanding of Kellogg's procedure, they will make notification to applicants even if they decide to waive their interview, right?? For kellogg, either invite or waiver, always with a notification, rather than a quiet procedure like what i am experiencing, right?? i am wondering whether i am quietly dinged by Kellogg without a notification of interview waiver.

looking forward to your response!! good luck to you!!

Hi,

I think you need to just be patient. They did say that it would take 6-8 weeks to match you with an alumnus interviewer. In cities where they are plentiful, applicants get matched faster. If they're not able to match you even in that timeframe, they would give you a waiver, consider your application and call you for an interview if they're serious about you.

So, hold tight until you get one of the two things - waiver or an invite. Neither is bad. The real wait starts after that, when they start looking at your application.

Hope this helps and good luck to you.

Hi,
Do you think they have started reviewing the application, or will they do it after everyone is interviewed/ given a waiver??

There were instructions in Kellogg's email:

"If you do not receive a response from the interviewer within one week, or if the interviewer is no longer at the contact information listed, let us know and we will reach out to the interviewer for alternate contact information."

I would follow up with your interviewer by calling the work or mobile number provided in the email. That's what I did for my first interviewer, who ended up no longer being at the contact information listed. Kellogg then matched me with another interviewer (who is actually in my city!).
