bb I love this ranking system. Being an athlete growing up ranking was very important to me. These rankings motivate people to do more questions!

Fantastic...This will act as motivator and guide to improvise.

Some reward system can be devised like giving free test or advisory session for particular individuals basis this.

Thank you - Yes. that's a natural next steps and we are trying to figure out/determine how to best do that. Welcome suggestions for the reward basis e.g. top 10 for a week = access for x days to GMAT Club tests OR something else? :)

I suggest, you can give rewards in form of additional points and let the user decide how to spend these points as your existing point burning system. This will be quicker to develop

I have unlocked the topic if anyone has a question but please be informed: this ranking feature is something that pre-dates GMAT Club rewards. The rewards system was supposed to fully replace these rankings but we left these on to help people track how they compare vs. others.

This technically means this Rankings are entirely different from Kudos/ Points system and High Ranking here will not help to redeem any benefits?

Yes, rankings system helps one to see where they stand in terms of knowledge compared to other GC users. I highly used this system to ensure I am at the top. This pushed me a lot to prepare hard and be well competitive. It has nothing to do with kudos/redemption process.

Good luck :)

Wow

abhimahna let me tell you sir, you have been one of top motivators. I have failed to get the dream score multiple times but not giving up is something I have learned from your debriefs and other posts. Keep Rocking as always

GMAT Club Rankings.

Today we have released a new feature - GMAT Club Rankings to motivate you to study, to reward your participation, and to help you see how you stack up with other members. You can visit My Profile to see all of your rankings.

The system takes into consideration everyone's participation on the site - the rankings are impacted by taking timers, replying to questions, starting new topics, getting Kudos, and other activities.

This is our first iteration release - we welcome your input and feedback how to improve the Rankings. Our immediate next step is to observe the functionality of the system and optimize ratio how many points are awarded for each activity and making sure that it encourages the right level of participation.

Ratings offer a look at the Overall Top 500 as well as a specific ranking for each of the Question topics (e.g. PS, DS, CR, and SC). Currently participation in other forums is not taken into consideration - just these 4 question forums are included/calculated in. You can see the rankings in Your Profile or here

Thank you all - please keep your suggestions coming!
Best Regards
BB

Hi Kinshook! Hope you and your family are safe and comfortable. Sorry about the lockdown - Washington state and Seattle are having a similar exercise (finally it seems).

Thank you for the post. I will send this to developers right now.

Rankings has replaced rewards so in the same way you would not attach a horse to a car, We will not be attaching rankings to rewards :-)

The rankings is a precursor to the GMAT Club Rewards. The 555 points is the rankings points calculated differently from the rewards (it is based on your participation) so it shows that you are the 8th most active person in the last 24 hrs based on your posts, views, timers, and kudos. This is completely separate from the rewards. We planned to kill rankings feature after launching the rwards but many people wanted to keep them to see how they were performing.
