GMAT Club Rankings.


Today we have released a new feature - GMAT Club Rankings to motivate you to study, to reward your participation, and to help you see how you stack up with other members. You can visit My Profile to see all of your rankings.

The system takes into consideration everyone's participation on the site - the rankings are impacted by taking timers, replying to questions, starting new topics, getting Kudos, and other activities.

This is our first iteration release - we welcome your input and feedback how to improve the Rankings. Our immediate next step is to observe the functionality of the system and optimize ratio how many points are awarded for each activity and making sure that it encourages the right level of participation.

Ratings offer a look at the Overall Top 500 as well as a specific ranking for each of the Question topics (e.g. PS, DS, CR, and SC). Currently participation in other forums is not taken into consideration - just these 4 question forums are included/calculated in. You can see the rankings in Your Profile or here

Thank you - yes! It is a bit confusing with both topics present in DS and PS, so you can be a master of Statistics twice... I thought this would come up sooner or later, but I expected this to come up much later :-) Congratulations on finding yet another item to fix!

btw, I couldn't find anywhere the overall rankings in my profile menu. nevertheless, if I access through the direct link provided in the first post, it works. Is it possible somehow to access it from "inside"?

Some reward system can be devised like giving free test or advisory session for particular individuals basis this.

Yes, I believe that is a great motivator. GMATClub's tests are awesome. People will want to participate more, knowing that they will have real benefits for their preparations.
Moreover, it would be good to add some kind of badges in the profile, so that people would know that, when they see a post, the post was written by an "expert".

I didn't knew this. I was surprised to see 'rankings' on a page all of a sudden.

Great move. I hope this will help the club members to be more active.

I haven't found any glitches yet, but I will definitely report if I find any.

I don't know how the points are calculated. But it will surely be effective and efficient if points are calculated based on the difficultly of the problem. As we already have a difficulty meter tab in each question, it will be easier to calculate the points based on the meter.
