My answer is (C). It took me 01:31.

(A) Lack of parallelism between "Mount Tambora" and "its eruption in 1815"
To maintain parallelism,
In no other circumstance did Mount Tambora cause such a global disaster as it did in its eruption in 1815.

(B) Lack of parallelism between "Mount Tambora" and "its 1815 eruption"

(C) Parallelism between "In no other circumstance" and "in its eruption of 1815"

(D) Equivalent with (A)

(E) The comparison is unclear. It can mean the comparison between "Mount Tambora" and "its eruption in 1815"

In option C "it did" is not there after as then why it is correct?

Hello Ashish136,

We hope this finds you well.

To answer your query, in the sentence formed by Option C, the comparison is between the prepositional phrases "In no other circumstance" and "in its eruption of 1815", so "it did" is not needed.

We hope this helps.
All the best!
