Hi there,

The sentence is grammatically correct as well. This is how we can write the entities –
… parents are:
a. angry, and
b. looking for someone to blame.

The sentence is saying two things about the parents. Both the entities are verb, one in simple present tense and the other in present continuous, but they both are in present tense. Also, the way the second entity cannot be written in simple present tense, the first entity cannot be written in present continuous tense.

Hope this helps. :)
Thanks.
