In the figure to the left, what is the ratio of CD/AD ?
(1) The area of the rectangular region ABCD is 36. Clearly not sufficient.
(2) Each of the three small rectangles within the rectangular region ABCD have the same dimensions:

Notice that y=x+x=2x, thus CD/AD=2x/(x+2x)=2/3. Sufficient.
Answer: B.
