Hi Karishma,

Can you please help with the below modulus -

– y = |||x| – 3| – x||?

It will be time consuming if you try to solve the above question in a graphical way. My advice for you is to try substituting the values of the options in the above equation and check which one of them is correct.

You are assuming that the options will give you the values of x or y. GMAT is smarter than that and might give you something on the lines of: "For how many values of x is y = 1?" etc.

But note that this is probably above GMAT level. I wouldn't expect a triple absolute value at any level in GMAT. The beauty of the graphs is that it doesn't matter whether you have a single, double or triple absolute value - you can solve everything in a minute.
