Can someone please help with this questions. Solution and explanation. I find mixture problems confusing! If someone knows an easy way to do these, please share.

This problem though it seems to b complicated it is nt actually :wink:

Just take the average of it

for example the average of all the concentrations of water Proportional to their volumes is equal to the net concentration.

A : m ounces of 40 % concentration (W)

B : 2m ounces of 70% concentration(W)

C : n ounces of 30% concentration (W)

Net concentration = 54 %


Which means

54 = [m*40 + 2m*70 +n*30]/m+2m + n

From that u get m/n = 4/3

So the only combination that satisfies is m = 480 and n = 360

Correct me incase I made some mistake !

Can you please explain why you multiplied the % of water in liquids A B & C by the amount of liquid A B & C that make up the final solution.
