Circle P: diameter 2
So, the radius (r) = 1
Circle Q: diameter 1
So, the radius (r) = 1/2
area of circle = πr²
SHADED area = (area of circle P) - (area of circle Q)
We get: SHADED area = (π)(1²) - (π)(1/2)²
= (π)(1) - (π)(1/4)
= π(1 - 1/4)
= π(3/4)
Answer: A

Since the outer circle has diameter 2, radius is 1 and area of the circle = \(π * 1^2 = π\)
Similarly the inner circle has diameter 1, radius is 1/2 and area of the inner circle is \(π *(1/2)^{2} = π/4\)
Hence, area of shaded region = area of outer circle - area of inner circle = 3/4 * π(Option A)
