100/(c-w) = 200/(c+w), where c is speed of car and w is speed of wind
c+w= 2c-2w
which gives c=3w
hence speed of wind= 40m/hr

The time it takes the car to travel 100 miles against the wind is:
T= 100 / (120-w)

Plug that in to (120+w)T = 200
(120 + w ) (100 / (120-w)) = 200
we get w = 40

Since it takes the car to travel the double distance in the same amount of time, then the speed with wind should be the double the speed of the car without a wind.

The speed = 120mph => only 120 - 40 = 80 and 120 + 40 = 160 satisfy this condition

We are given the time is equal

\(\frac{200}{(120+w)} = \frac{100}{(120-w)}\)

cross multiply we get \(200*120 - 200w = 120*100 + 100w\)

it becomes\(2*100*120 - 100*120 = 300w\)

\(100*120 = 300w\)

\(120 = 3w\)

w = 40
