Hi Everyone:

I'm posting the analysis I've done for the quant section in GMAT practice tests 1, 2, and 3 based on my scores of Q49, Q49, and Q50 respectively. I am posting the analysis with the intention of sharing data so as a community we can get good sense of how to approach quant for some of the highest scores.

I've seen several controlled scenarios played out on the forums, which helped me tremendously. However, I'm curious to see some more "real world" (so to speak) scenarios, where folks make mistakes on some low and medium ones due to different reasons such as nerves, and how it affects the overall score.

Analyzing the data has allowed me to not worry about running out of time as much as I used to, which in turn helps me stay calm, which in turn leads me to perform better.

The biggest takeaway for me is that an easy question has nothing to do with whether I got the previous one wrong or right. Once I stopped worrying about it my overall level of staying calm and being focused went up drastically. As you can see below, despite of answering a hard question correct, the GMAT throws an easy one your way. My theory on this is that they allow you to cover up the extra time one spends on a particularly hard question and also to catch some breath, if you know what I mean.
