Thanks for your inputs but putting all this in excel is too time consuming. Can you share your excel to explain further :)

Here's my quant error log to help you get a better understanding. Also, please hit the Kudos button if this helped you :)

After many iterations, I found a great way of creating a personal error log for GMAT prep and would like to share it with everyone.

Step 1: Create an excel sheet with 3 tabs: Verbal, Quant and IR

Step 2: Create the following columns:
SR.NO. | QUESTION SOURCE | QUESTION TYPE | QUESTION SUB-TYPE | ERROR | TIME TAKEN

Step 3: Be strict and candid enough in writing EXACTLY why you got the question wrong. At the same time, be detailed in explaining the steps that led up to the error. It's okay even if you spend more time reviewing the questions than solving them.

Some sample values can be:
1 | GMAT Quant OG | PS | Statistics | "Given w,x,y and z, is range > 2? Given w-z>2; This should be sufficient; Didn't realise it and took simplest solution"

Doing this over time will leave you with a clearer sense of which question types trip you up and if you're repeating your mistakes. Also, since you're going to be solving questions from many different sources, it makes sense not to depend on one particular platform.

Pro-tip: Take screenshots of the questions you get wrong along with their explanations and store it in a word document.

Hit the Kudos button if this could add value :)

Sounds like a lot of work!

I prefer using GMAT Club and the inbuilt Error Log. It is invaluable.

It''s just takes 5 mins to create. Also, forcing yourself to think through exactly why you got a question wrong really gives some great insights. I'm sure the GMATClub error log wouldn't be able to tell you that.

I've also attached my quant error log here for you to have a look at.

Also, please hit the Kudos button if you feel I was able to add value :)
