Hello folks,
I had purchased Manhattan 4th edition guides in 2015-2016. The guides come with access to 6 CATs. I, unfortunately, had to drop my study plans.
Now, I have resumed studying form the 4th edition and want to avail the CATs associated with the scratch code given at the back.
I reached on the Manahttan website but there is no option to register my 4th edition. So, I reached out to Manahttan guys on mail but they are still giving the same reason that they don't allow to register any older version.
I am lost here. I purchased the books so that i could avail the CATs but now they no longer support the older edition even though i have valid scratch codes that i shared with them on mail.
What should i do? please help

That’s annoying. Sorry. Weird too but I guess old editions get discontinued and no longer supported at some point....
I’ll perhaps take a look add the book details and what kind of language it has about activation of the test. If there are no limitations and no stipulations, I would take pictures of the codes that were not scratched off and try again. Also if you can and check the purchase receipt proving that you purchased it back then would be helpful too.
At the same time, they used to offer test with the purchase of any book but later required the purchase of a full bundle. That **** could’ve been possible for somebody to use only one book inactivate test back in 2014.
The good thing is that you can still use the books and materials and the content is still relevant. The subsequent additions have revise their layout and improve the look of the book but largely left a lot of the content in place. They have been major updates to a few books however, I believe sentence correction was updated significantly but that’s the only one.
But at the end of the day it is their product and their rules. I can tell you that it’s a pretty similar approach with other publishers including GMAC and other companies who have tests. For example was GMAT, you will not be able to activate bonus content several years after. 😢

I have gone through the language of the book and it puts no limitation of any kind on the usage of the scratch codes. Also, the books were purchased 4 years back from a retail store. So, there is no chance of having the receipt that old
Now, another thing can be is that they validate if the codes were ever used, and if the codes are never used and they no longer support these old books then as a courtesy they can avail me their latest CATs. This is reasonable as the same would have been provided in the past and they can verify the validity of the codes easily.
As far as the policy of GMAC and other publishers is concerned, it states that the mocks are available for upto 12 months(GMAC) from the date of activation of the code.
Manhattan team should work around this issue on a case to case basis and help out the aspirants, I feel.

Sorry about your issue! You have very innocent expectation of asking a support for a service which you bought 5 years ago:) But this is how world is working currently. Things are changing fast and very fast. As no maker of electronic mobile devices supports older devices longer than 5 years, most other industries are also not supporting older services. Because like every manufacturer of electronic devices, education service support system,technology, databases continue to advance. It is really difficult to support very very old code.
It is evident in every sphere of life, as we can see, every year GMAC releases new version of OG.
