Last Tuesday a trucker paid $155.76, including 10 percent state and federal taxes, for diesel fuel. What was the price per gallon for the fuel if the taxes are excluded?

x + .10x= 155.76
We can get the value of x. that is the total price paid before taxes.
Statement 1:-
Tax is given = $0.118 per gallon
We know that taxes are 10%. That is $0.118 is 10%. We can calculate 100% is we know 10%
Sufficient.
Statement2:-
We know the total price before taxes from question stem. And he purchased 120 gallons.
So price/galloncan be calculated= total price/120
Sufficient.
D is the answer

since $155.76 is the total including taxes and the taxes are 10%, we can subtract $0.118 from the total until the total amount that we have subtracted equals 10% of the total we subtract from ($155.76)
statement 2: sufficient
you can pick #s for price per gallon until the total + 10% of the total = $155.76
