HI SSJOSAN,

In general, I think your quant could use some work. So, since you have limited time, a way to find and fix your weak areas is to engage in topical quant practice.

For example, let’s say that you want to practice Number Properties. You can do so by answering 50 or more questions just from Number Properties: LCM, GCF, units digit patterns, divisibility, remainders, etc.

After each problem set, thoroughly analyze your incorrect questions. For example, if you got a remainder question wrong, ask yourself why. Did you make a careless mistake? Did you not properly apply the remainder formula? Was there a concept you did not understand in the question?

By carefully analyzing your mistakes, you will be able to fix your weaknesses efficiently and, in turn, improve your GMAT quant skills. Number Properties is just one example; follow this process for all quant topics.

Hi Marty Sir,
I have added my ESR report to the main post. Can you please have a look at it and advice me on what I can improve in my next attempt?
As Scott said, your ESR indicates that you need to improve in quant in general, with the possible exception of geometry.

If you want to work on one area in the next couple days before your test, could work on algebra and inequalities, but ideally, you'd spend more than a few days preparing before your next test and work on multiple areas of quant.

Meanwhile, having seen your ESR, I'm even more convinced that your best way to increase your score in the next few days is to work on overall accuracy.

You may want to use time markers for Quant. Your Q4 on that section was done with an avg. of 1:39 per question.

For Verbal, may be some tips on the GMAT Knight blog you find helpful. A V39 is a good Verbal score. Perhaps work on your solving approach. May boost it a bit. Had a 6-hour student go from a V41 to a V45 in about 10 days.

Hello Everone,

Can someone help me in analyzing the ESR report of my GMAT exam? I am planning a retake my exam in a few days and need a 30-point improvement.

It would be really great if someone can help me point out the areas I lacked in my first attempt so that I can improve upon them in my retake.

Thanks
Sukhmandeep

Hi SSJOSAN

The first thing in that process, as you already know, would be to identify your weak areas. As you have attached your ESR, that would be definitely helpful but I feel it's better to have a one-on-one discussion rather than responding here as the former would be more effective. We could connect over a zoom conference call and analyze your ESR together and at the same time come up with a study plan and improvement strategy for you. You can use the below link to get in touch with me.
