In triangle ACD, what is the length of line AD ?

Pre Analysis:
- In the given diagram, as we see, \(\angle DAB=\angle DBA=2x\) which means sides \(AD=DB\)
- Also, \(\angle DBC=180-2x\) and \(\angle BDC=180-(180-2x+x)=x\)
- This makes \(\angle BCD=\angle BDC=x\) which means sides \(BD=DC\)Attachment:

- We are asked the value of AD and we have established that \(AD=BD=BC\)
Statement 1: Line segment BD has length 12
- We can very easily say \(AD=BD=12\)
- Thus, statement 1 alone is sufficient and we can eliminate options B, C and E
Statement 2: Line segment BC has length 12
- We can very easily say \(AD=BC=12\)
- Thus, statement 2 alone is also sufficient
Hence the right answer is Option D
