Today I took my 3rd attempt at GMAT and ended up with a score of 710 - Q49 V37 IR7.
To be honest, I was expecting at least 730 today. But nonetheless, I am waiting for the ESR report. Once that is available, I will analyze where I went wrong and what areas I need to improve. Some notes from my experience -
>I had 4 RC passages. Phew! They were tough. One passage was EXTREMELY different from any of the official passages I have ever solved. Unfortunately, I can't divulge more information, but just one thing - It was short and complex, and had around 3 questions, each of which had a question stem of around 4-5 lines.
>While solving CR questions, it felt as if I was solving non-official questions
>SC questions were really good. Some of them tested concepts that I never came across
>Quant DS was EXTREMELY difficult. PS was just a little on the harder side
Furthermore, I have three questions -1. I am aiming for 750+: I know I can improve my Quant score to at least 50 (This time, maybe I just underestimated the might of the beast and gave Quant just a couple of weeks). But, the most asked (and answered as well?) question - How do I take my Verbal score from the high 30s to at least the low 40s? :/
2. Should I work on changing the strategy and retake the GNMAT traditional exam in a month or two, or shall I wait for the Focus edition? Context: I consider my SC to be competitive. In the first attempt, I had 88 percentile in SC, hoping that it would be somewhat similar this time too.
3. If I continue to apply to the B-Schools with my current score, which schools would you recommend? (Just a suggestion based on the profile) Please share a list of 3 dream - 3 target - 1 safe schools. Context:
> Indian Male, 28
>WE - 6 years in Data Analytics
>International exposure - WE in 3 different countries, internships in 2 different countries (other than home country)
>CGPA - 8/10, NIT
>Extracurricular - Travel enthusiast (travelled more than 17 countries), in all four years of my undergrad, I was a member of the student body, and in 3rd and 4th year I had leadership roles
>Diversity: Identify as LGBTQ+
P.S.- I have had subscriptions to eGMAT and TTP in the past. I liked them both for different reasons and different sections. Furthermore, unfortunately, I am completely out of my budget for my GMAT prep and can't invest anymore in any paid coursework. Thanks to the MBA Spotlight that was conducted last week, I have access to
GMAT Club Tests. I am planning to utilize mainly the free resources.
Many many many thanks to all of you for your constant guidance and support that got me past the 700 barrier, but the goal is yet to be achieved!
I am really looking forward to the day when I post my debrief, mentioning how I scored 770 (fantasy?!) on my 4th attempt!

Edit: Adding ESR
