Need Help - Educational Degree Transcripts?

Question

When a B school asks for education degree transcript what do they mean. Do they mean the actual Degree certificates.

I am from India. Someone told me that in united States schools will not understand the degrees from India hence we need to get something called as transcriprs from our universities. As per him transcripts is not degree marksheet or certificate but it is some thing that provides details of degree, subjects covered etc. When I checked in my university they said that they do not provide some thing like this.

Can some one clarify this to me. Specially folks from India can help me on this.

That "someone" is more-or-less correct. Your school sends details about the courses, credits/units along with your comparative performance. Since so many Indian students apply to US schools, transcripts are understood by almost all respectable schools in India. 

Just call em .. they'd know

You need to brush up your info buddy! Yeah, as you were told, a transcript is a report of all the semesters that you went through in college. It lists the subjects you have taken, the period for which you've taken them, and your proficiency in each. etc etc.

Thats strange, what uni. is this? Anyways, you can get a 3rd party to make a transcript for you (I think there is a site called  https://www.yourmaninindia.com . Haven't tried it out though). This will have to be in a sealed envelope (most colleges demand sealed transcripts), some however have a self transcript format (attaching Tuck's format for your perusal; you can also download it from their site)

Paddy, I remember from one of your posts that you have also studied in one of the colleges from Nagpur. Please let me know how you got your transcripts made and what was the process

But I got my transcripts from my college. Do check with your faculty. Some of your batchmates would have applied for MS courses through GRE. Hunt them down!
