1 symbol = 100 titles

3000 titles => total 30 symbols

If one title is selected at random out of the total inventory, the chance that the title is available in print as either a paperback or hardcover or both is 23/30

P (available in print as either a paperback or hardcover or both) + P(neither paperback nor hardcover) = 1

P (neither paperback nor hardcover) = P (symbols not in any circle) = \(\frac{7}{30}\)

=> P (available in print as either a paperback or hardcover or both) = \(1 - \frac{7}{30} = \frac{23}{30}\)

If one title is selected at random out of the total inventory, the chance that the title is available in print in both paperback and hardcover is 5/30

P (both paper back and hardcover) = P (symbols in the overlapping areas) = \(\frac{5}{30}\)
