Let the earnings be x and the expenditures be y.
so the savings will be x-y.

we have the earnings of Alex, Brian, and Charlie as 3x, 5x, and 8x.
Their expenditures are : 2y, 3y, and 5y.

Alex's earnings equal Charlie's expenditure, which means :\( 3x=5y\) ;\( x=\frac{5}{3} y\)

The ratio of the savings of Brian to Charlie : \(\frac{5x-3y}{8x-5y} \)
we replace the value of x in the equation above and we get : \(\frac{16}{25}\)
