I just received my official GMAT score analysis and found out that my overall score was heavily penalised by my Quant section. I was shocked at the result when I saw a 79/90 (57th percentile) with only three out of 21 questions wrong. I understand that I got my first question wrong, but I still had a long streak to recover! Where should I improve??

One thing that may help a bit is leveraging your error-log to help identify questions you may be weaker on (e.g. work rate problems) or repeated careless errors you may make. If you're interested, you could also check out the Understanding Your Score page on the MBA website to read the "three factors" Quant scores are based on. You may also find the myth vs. fact info (e.g. in the beginning of the Official-Guide 2024) interesting to go through.

i too had similar experience for 4 questions wrong received 80,
may b u corrected few questions afterwards or all incorrect qns were easy qns
correcting answer choices only works if u r looking for Q90 but not for midrange

Hi fedespatola03,

I don't have an answer for you, but many test takers have reported such results. If I were you, I'd take a look at my official practice tests. If you got better scores on those tests, this particular result may not be very representative of your ability.

Unfortunately, this type of scoring pattern has been common among GMAT test takers. The best thing you can do is put this test behind you, regroup, and prepare for a retake. If you need any additional advice, feel free to reach out.
