Hi, I wanted to know about Business Admissions Test (BAT). Is it similar to GMAT? Like a common entrance exam or is this exam specific to some colleges admission where format varies from college to college for admissions? Pls let me know. Thanks in advance!

Hi Sriji. Interesting test. I am not super familiar with it. It seems it is kind of an alternative to the GMAT and GRE that some of the lower-ranked and Masters programs have adopted.
The most prominent and interesting of these is ISB MFAB program, which requires it and it seems the school pays for the test.... and it can only be taken once. Very interesting but very limited.
Found this sample test on their site (attached in case it disappears).
Academic Aptitude
Purpose: Assess the candidate’s problem solving, data management, and logical thinking skills, in order to to determine the candidate’s readiness for a rigorous business academic curriculum.
Duration: 2 hours.
4 sections, 60 questions in total.
Leadership Evaluation
Purpose: Assess the candidate’s business acumen and maturity through a realistic business scenario, crafted to determine whether the candidate has had exposure to several business cycles and to general management decision-making.
Duration: 30 minutes.
1 section, 3 questions in total.

The Business Admissions Test is not very similar to the GMAT. It is not yet a common entrance exam. If you are planning to apply to the ISB MFAB you need to write the BAT test, however if you are planning to apply to the MBA programs ( as we know them globally) you need to have the GMAT or the GRE test scores, according to the program requirements.
