Most of them are NOT H/S/W grads.

but then most of the world isn't, right?
L.

Agreed. I'm not saying that an MBA from H/S/W is not valuable. All I'm saying is that "It's not the end of the world if you don't get into H/S/W as some people would have you believe". And oh yes, for the record, I would kill for an admit into H/S/W. I just posted this to ease some of the tension that had built up during the app-process.

On that thinking it is not the end of the world even if you dont get into any college, or dont do an MBA.

The mere fact that you, or most would kill for HSW is both cause and the effect of probably the biggest brands in education. Unfortunately, IMO they are fully worthy of our tension and so no other option for us but to endure.....

True but I believe that it depends on the industry.

1. Retail Industry: Most CEO's tend to be employees who have risen up through the ranks- so here you will not find many CEO's from the top schools
2. Tech: Most of these companies have been founded by engineers and taken up CEO roles.
3. CEO of financial services: These are dominated by HS grad's. Take a look at this list - https://www.forbes.com/lists/2006/12/Diversified_Financials_Rank_1.html

Notice anything funny? Most of them are NOT H/S/W grads.

yeah, I haven't had time to look at the article in detail, so I'm not sure how they picked the CEOs. I thought Stanford would have more too.

I believe they are ranking the highest paid CEO's. I used to work for Capital One, so I know that Fairbank (a Stanford Alum) used to have a base pay of $1 (yes thats one benjamin) but some ridiculous stock options that he granted to himself ($250million or so) making him the highest paid executive in the country.

PS: we always used to find it amusing that a guy whose name is 'Rich Fair-Bank' is heading a financial services company,

You don't need to be a CEO to be a millionaire. Go the banking route and you'll be making a million+ in 5-6 years. Go into private equity and your carried interest could be worth that much in 2 years. Or, you could start your own company, and be CEO right now; of course it's up to you whether you can make millions right now.

wow, LOL, going from #2 to #3, there is a ~$91,000,000 difference in annual pay...

I'm also happy to see some CUNY grads on the list.

I think Forbe's stats miss some individuals. Pls see a spreadsheet attached. However there could be a difference between a manager and a CEO...
