how about this one??
the ratio of women to children is 5:2, children to men is 5:11 so if we combine the ratios isnt it
12.5:5:11 = women:children:men
given both 1 and 2 number of women could be 12.5 or 25 which makes men either 11 or 22??

Women = W; Child = C; Men = M.
W:C 5:2 C:M 5:11
1/ alone and 2/ alone are clearly not sufficient.
Now, let's combine the ratios by first creating a bridge between the two ratios; 10 will be the bridge.
We'll change the ratios to equivalent ratios.
W:C 25:10 but also C:M 10: 22
so W:M 25:22
Since the number of women must be less than 30, W must be equal to 25. No decimal (like 13.5: 11) allowed here!
So the number of men must be 22.
The correct answer is C
