OGM,
Thanks for sharing your profile
First of all, I must say, when it comes to experience,
it's very rare to find such depth and diverse profile with a huge amount of relevant experience! Without any question,
this could be your biggest asset to pitch in front of the adcom! However, spending most of the time in the family business, getting into an MBA school with a family business background poses a few challenges but no need to worry! Here is an article you could refer to,
How to stand out in your MBA application with a family business background, this would most certainly help provide insights about how to approach your MBA application with a family business background
Coming to academics, you have a great GPA; however, it would be great if you add more specifically about the gap years taken in an additional letter to the adcom! Also, I would suggest adding a tad more about your overall statistics and information about any other courses, certifications, and academic accolades to your profile! Finally, you have a robust profile; hence aiming for 710-715+ could add an additional boost.
Furthermore, your resume is strengthened by your advancements and international experience. Kudos to you for your excellent job defining your roles, duties, and important initiatives. All left to do is
highlight a few outstanding leadership examples, like your role in the revival of your family business and saving it from bankruptcy or the role played in your job involving The World Bank, in your application. This would help signify global exposure and add weight to your application. Moreover, owning a restaurant and renewable energy company accounts for entrepreneurial skills, which would help explore new horizons to discuss in front of the adcom!
Moreover,
you did switch several times in your tenure and even want to switch lines post-MBA; hence, you need to give strong reasons for your decision. For your reference, I suggest you go through our article on
How you can justify your career switch to pursue an MBA! It would help you portray your reasons and the impact of your decisions on your career progression!
Your profile has a distinctive blend due to your interests in hiking and mountains. Participation in social events also justifies your moral responsibilities; highlight particular accomplishments to broaden your profile.
The biggest advantage will be how you present these activities; it will also help your portfolio appear better. Hence, it would help if you elaborated on your ECAs; that should help start an interesting conversation between you and AdComs. Furthermore, I suggest you go through our article on
Significance of ECAs for MBA Application, to understand the importance of drafting exemplary ECAs essays!
Overall, I see a robust profile; nevertheless, you must concentrate on establishing your application's credibility and incorporating the values you have acquired throughout your lengthy tenure. Furthermore,
we would also like to discuss more about your year gap and the re-switch to the family business after a brief period in other roles!
