The table gives information on the total inventory in 2015 and the total items produced by a national pottery manufacturer over a 5-year period, from 2011 through 2015. The 17 items were included in the table because they fall among the top 20 items produced by the company in terms of total inventory and total number made. In addition to listing the total inventory and total number made for each pottery type, the table also gives the percent increase or decrease over the 2014 inventory and 2006–2010 production numbers and the rank of each pottery type for total inventory and total items made.

Official Explanation

Among the items that experienced an increase in total inventory, five also experienced an increase in total items sold. None of these five items are green.

The pottery type experiencing the greatest percentage increase in total inventory from 2014 to 2015 was the black stoneware mug. The pottery types that experienced the lowest percentage increase in the total number of items made were the black earthenware bowl and the red earthenware mug.

The pottery type with the lowest rank based on total inventory is the white earthenware bowl, at rank #19. The pottery type with the lowest rank based on total items made was the white kaolin vase.

In 2015, the total inventory of white kaolin vases was 24,444. This represented a 7.1% increase over the total inventory for 2014. To find the total white kaolin vase inventory for 2014, let x represent the missing value. Set up an equation:  x+0.71x=24,444 . Then solve for x:

x+0.71x=24,444

1x+0.71x=24,444

1.071x+0.71x=24,444

\frac{1.071x}{1.071} = \frac{24,444}{1.071}

x ≈ 22,824

Answer: False, False, False and True.

Explanation -
Filter out the data that increased in both (or the % increase is +ve)
The green colored type has a decrease in both so definitely it's a False.
(Inventory change of - 5.8 in platter and number change of -1.3 in plate )

Explanation -
Sort out the Inventory % change with highest on the top. It turns out to be the Stoneware of Mug Type with a 9.2% increase, but with a 5.5% increase for the number made change, this change is not the lowest % change.

1. Since total items we get on sorting from number made increase are 10, out of which the 4 will have an decrease in inventory thus out of total remaining 6 items we will have 0 green .Hence false.

2. stoneware mug black have the highest change in inventory, now lowest percentage increase on the basis of number of items is earthware mug red, hence false.

3. Earthware bowl white has the lowest rank based on inventory which is not same as Kaolin vase white who has lowest rank number. based on number, hence false.

4. In 2014 the increase in the number total inventory of white kaolin vases is approx. 22,824 an increase of 7.1% will have 24,444 .Thus true.
