A - Reduced-impact logging, a timber-harvesting technique used in the rainforests of Guyana, although it involves more cumbersome methods of felling trees than conventional logging

WRONG: "it" is not required as this clause already starts with a subject.

B - A timber-harvesting technique used in the rainforests of Guyana, reduced-impact logging involves more cumbersome methods of felling trees than conventional logging,

WRONG: Awkward structure and it doesn't even show the contrast.

C - Although it involves more cumbersome methods of felling trees than conventional logging, reduced-impact logging is a timber-harvesting technique used in the rainforests of Guyana,

WRONG: this too is ill structured, its focus is to define the technique while original statement in question aims to tell the comtrast.

D - Although reduced-impact logging, a timber-harvesting technique used in the rainforests of Guyana, involves more cumbersome methods of felling trees than conventional logging,

CORRECT: Correct structure, single subject and clearly conveys the message. Perfect Answer.

E - Although involving more cumbersome methods of felling trees than conventional logging, reduced-impact logging, a timber-harvesting technique used in the rainforests of Guyana,

WRONG: Involving is not parallel. Also not well structured.

Correct answer is D

A - Reduced-impact logging, a timber-harvesting technique used in the rainforests of Guyana, although it involves more cumbersome methods of felling trees than conventional logging -
use of 'it' in the underlined section is redundant. INCORRECT

B - A timber-harvesting technique used in the rainforests of Guyana, reduced-impact logging involves more cumbersome methods of felling trees than conventional logging, -
Although should be present, as the non-underlined part suggests that the entire sentence is conveying a paradox.INCORRECT

C - Although it involves more cumbersome methods of felling trees than conventional logging, reduced-impact logging is a timber-harvesting technique used in the rainforests of Guyana,
the construction is awkward as Althought it........., reduced-impact......., it INCORRECT

D - Although reduced-impact logging, a timber-harvesting technique used in the rainforests of Guyana, involves more cumbersome methods of felling trees than conventional logging,
We can delete the phrase contained in two paragraphs and the sentence becomes less wordy, demonstrates a paradox and clear meaning CORRECT

E - Although involving more cumbersome methods of felling trees than conventional logging, reduced-impact logging, a timber-harvesting technique used in the rainforests of Guyana,
Awkward construction-does not gel with the "it" in non underlined part - Incorrect
