let us say that the pigeons can do the following things -
1. sense changes in earth's mag field
2. see light waves
3. detect low frequencies
4. sense changes in air-pressure
5. identify familiar odors.

the use of "can" in both options A and B is redundant.

I'm also supporting C. A is what someone would pick if they were trying to make both sides of and be the same, but since the sentence is a list there is no need to put "can" after and.
