The sentence says 
1) Many contemporary musicians can't sing a note.
2) professional songwriters belong to the contemporary musicians group.
3) Hence many professional songwriters can't sing a note either.

B)Many professional songwriters, out of millions of contemporary musicians playing in Britain today, can't play a note 
Only accounts for 2 and 3 not 1.

Please correct the answer choices. A is not correct. As the answer choices stand now I would pick E. But I would make a final call once the answer choices are corrected.
