Pay attention to the underlined portion of the sentence, as this is where the error is located. Look for errors in subject-verb agreement, verb tense, parallelism, modifiers, pronouns, and idioms.
2. Eliminate the obvious: Once you have identified the error, eliminate any answer choices that are obviously incorrect. For example, if the sentence contains a subject-verb disagreement, eliminate answer choices that do not correct this error.
3. Read the sentence carefully: Read the sentence carefully to ensure that the answer choice you have selected makes sense in the context of the sentence. Make sure that the answer choice does not introduce any new errors or change the intended meaning of the sentence.
4. Use process of elimination: If you are unsure of the correct answer, use process of elimination. Eliminate any answer choices that contain errors or that do not fit the context of the sentence. This will increase your chances of selecting the correct answer.
5. Memorize common errors: Memorize common errors that appear on sentence correction questions. This will help you quickly identify and correct errors, saving you time and increasing your accuracy. Some common errors to memorize include subject-verb agreement, verb tense, parallelism, modifiers, pronouns, and idioms.

3. Identify the argument structure: Identify the structure of the argument, including the premises and the conclusion. This will help you understand the reasoning behind the argument and identify any flaws or assumptions.
4. Evaluate the argument: Evaluate the argument by considering the assumptions, evidence, and reasoning presented. Identify any weaknesses in the argument and consider alternative explanations.
5. Eliminate answer choices: Use the process of elimination to eliminate any answer choices that are clearly incorrect. This will help you focus on the remaining answer choices and increase your chances of selecting the correct answer.
6. Look for answer choices that match your prethinking: Before looking at the answer choices, try to come up with your own answer based on your understanding of the argument. Look for answer choices that match your prethinking and eliminate any that do not fit.
