for me, East Asian = Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Taiwanese, etc...

SE Asian = Filipino, Vietnamese, Singaporean, Indonesian, Thai, etc...

South Asian = Bangladesh, India, Pakistan...

But yeah, some people just group all of them into "one" people.

I think that it's important to keep in mind that Harvard actively recruits people who are "in line" to be CEOs.

For example, i met recently with an individual who was the only son/heir of the owner a very large manufacturing company. The son had not even graduated college, but Harvard approached him about getting a Harvard MBA, and then put him through the remainder of his undergrad degree so that he could qualify. He never sought out admissions, Harvard came to him. He went on to be CEO of the company, but he would have done so anyway.

I guess my point is that if we want to truly evaluate which school to go to if you want to be a CEO, you should try to filter out all of the graduates who would have been CEOs anyway... unless, of course, you are also going to be a CEO anyway. Harvard is notorious for cherry-picking these shoe-ins.

Hi folks,

This thread seems to be a passive now, let us make it active.

Few queries:

(1). Can anyone throw some light on general management roles and responsibilities.

(2). Any differences between Management consultancy and general management roles.

(3). Any examples of general management roles.

(4). Possibilities of free lancing in GM roles.

(5). How I can relate my current profile of IT consultancy to a GM role.

Rgds,
TGC!
