The value of –3 +radical 9-k is positive for which of the following values of k ?

I. -1
II. 0
III. 1

A. None
B. I only
C. II only
D. III only
E. I and III

(I) is correct choise because

SQRT[9 - (-1) ] = SQRT [ 10 ]

-3 + SQRT [10] is positive

(II)

SQRT[9 - (0) ] = SQRT [ 9 ] = 3
-3 + 3 = 0 which is nither positive nor negative

(III)

SQRT[9 - (1) ] = SQRT [ 8 ]
-3 + SQRT [ 8 ] = is negative because SQRT [ 8 ] is less than 3

so the answer is (I) ===> (B)
