Standard commission earned by departments is calculated by subtracting 100% of the returned amount from the pre-return commission.
As an incentive, management for Kartman's announced that departments with return percentages under 4.5% will earn an extra commission on sales. This extra commission is calculated by taking \(\frac{1}{2}\)% of their commissions after returns are subtracted. In the table below, identify which departments will earn more than $1,000 in total commissions for the week.
