Is TOEFL required by universities? I have been working in US for 5 years and have a Masters degree from a US university.

Most likely not since you have a Master's from a US school but some schools may be strict about it. I would check with your first few schools to double-check. I am sure you won't have issues passing it if needed....

Did you study undergraduate in the US? or only your Master degree?
For some schools it depends on that.

For example, HBS requires bachelor degree in an English-speaking university to waive TOEFL: https://www.hbs.edu/mba/admissions/inter ... tions.html

# Candidates who received their bachelor's degree from an English-speaking university are not required to take an English language test (i.e., they are exempt).
# Candidates who received their bachelor's degree from a non-English-speaking university are required to take either the Internet-based version of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL IBT, the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or the Pearson Test of English (PTE).

However, Wharton Bachelor or Master: https://www.wharton.upenn.edu/mba/admiss ... cfm#listA2

The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required for all international applicants whose native language is not English. You may waive the TOEFL if you have earned an undergraduate degree or master's degree in an English-speaking country or from an institution in which English is the language of instruction; applicants must provide evidence to support the waiver.

So it really depends on each school. In any case, I would ask them directly to be sure.

My medium of instruction in undergraduate studies was English, but when I applied for my masters in the US almost every university required a TOEFL score

I hate the fact that the score only lasts 2 years though, I don't want to give that stupid test again :(

Does someone from UK who has been raised in a non English speaking country still require a TOEFL score?
