Okay, so last Wednesday I had emailed my Financial Accounting professor for a reccomendation for my MS schools. He hadn't replied until yesterday, so I figured that he was busy and since my deadlines are coming up in november, I didn't want to waste any time. So I emailed my Financial Management professor, who replied immediately saying he would be happy to give me a reccomendation but he would prefer that I write the initial letter, and then he could make any edits and sign off on it.
A little later, I got an email back from my Financial Accounting professor saying he would be very happy to write a reccomendation for me.
The thing is, I told professors all the schools I was applying to and said that I would need a reccomendation for all 5. I don't want to just say I don't need your reccomendation anymore to either of them.
I did extremely well in both classes - I had the highest grade in my Financial Accounting class (Out of 5 tests, I got a 105% on 2 of them, and A's on all the other ones) in a class of around 50 students and I got a 95% in Financial Management.
Any advice on what I should do?

I would just be honest with both of them. Tell them that you asked both to write recommendations because the deadline was coming up quickly and you wanted to be sure to have at least one available to write you a great recommendation for your five schools. Tell the one that responded first that since you've also received a response from the other professor, you have asked the second professor to write letters for two of your schools, so he only has to focus on the remaining three. Then tell the second professor the same thing.
The key with this approach is that each professor should write at least one letter for your top choice school. That is, don't give your two safeties to one professor and the other your top three. Give one your dream school and your safety, and give the other the other three.
As long as you are diplomatic and honest about the situation, frankly, I think both professors will appreciate having to only submit a letter to two or three schools instead of five. You could also frame it as being thoughtful about their time- five recommendation letters are a lot for one person to write in time for November deadlines.

I completely agree to runnergirl. It's a pain for anyone to write 5 recos anyways. Be very honest to both of them and ask them to do 2-3 recos each, explaining the entire situation (ofcourse don't tell ur finance management professor that he was contacted after finance accounting guy did not reply, you should probably mention that you think it will be a lot of work for him and thought that it would be nice if half of the recommendations are done by the other thereby saving them from spending a lot of time individually from their busy schedule) a lil-bit of buttering always helps
