Waitlisted.

Do we get a confirmation that we're staying on the list after we submit the survey? I've had personal experience with Qualtrics (the survey vendor they use) where their survey reporting doesn't completely record your answer...

I haven't received any confirmation email yet.

Waitlisted--not amazing, but not horrible either. Congratulations to all of those who were admitted!

For those who were waitlisted in R1: I see that some of you sent in updates with promotions, etc. Unfortunately, there's no room for growth in my job, so I won't be submitting a promotion. But...

I was thinking of seeing if they'd accept the score that I have on the GRE (in addition to my GMAT score), submitting an additional recommendation, a mid-term grade in a Calculus class in which I'm already enrolled (an A), and possibly an additional (short) essay about why I NEED to be at Fuqua.

Does anyone have any thoughts about this strategy? I'm very open to any suggestions or feedback that anyone has! :-D

I had pretty much given up hope for Fuqua after not being invited to interview for R2. I just checked my decision and I have been waitlisted and invited to interview.

This sounds like a good thing, right? It made me happy. Still in the game.

I just woke up in Shenzhen to find my acceptance notice. Very excited. Congrats to everyone else who has been accepted and good luck to all those on the wait list. I hope that this is just good news deferred.

I'm certain that the AdCom will appreciate how proactive you are trying to be. See below for my take on each item on your list.

- I'm not sure how the GRE score will be able to help your cause. Unless the GRE score is significantly higher than your GMAT score, I don't think you will gain much from this.
- If you have another recommendation letter submitted, it would be best if you have a current student or alum do this.
- You should absolutely tell them about your Calculus grade!
- The additional essay is great, but keep it concise. Don't say anything that they already know.

Good luck!

Also about the waitlist & updating the adcom: how does a promotion at your current company look vs. getting a new job entirely? (I somehow have both options available to me right now...decisions, decisions)

It all depends on which of the two is more relevant to your post MBA goals. Ask yourself this question, and then go with which one the answer is. To top it off, you could talk about how you had to choose between the two options and how your focus on achieving your post MBA goals led you to your decision.

MissMeghan - To add one more point to threestripes' fine advice: If you have assumed any additional leadership roles either at work or participating in ECs, make sure to call those out, as well - it might help put you over the top!

Wait listed. Probably too late in the cycle for me to be waiting so I will likely turn it down. Best of luck too the rest of those waiting.

If I may add my 2 cents: I think you should make sure the new position or promotion shows personal and/or career growth.

Yeah, hopefully, there are still spots for us.

I feel I have a strong application but round 3 makes me nervous. If more than expected people choose to enroll, we are screwed.

Hope Booth works out! Either way, Ross is an awesome school to have in your back pocket! :)

On a different note, where in China are you located?

Thanks, threestripes -- your advice always makes so much sense!! :)

No worries. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I am working in Shanghai, but I've lived in Beijing, Dalian and Shenzhen throughout the last tumultuous seven years.

And it appears that booth has indeed worked out...there was a message left for me on my work voice mail. I guess they couldn't reach me on my cell phone for some reason? I haven't heard the words just yet but like I said in the Booth thread, I doubt they called me to ding me

First school I've gotten into. Super excited! Does anyone know if/when Duke has their admit weekend before the response deadline for R2?
