Hello Guys

I am so pissed off right now and need to learn it is normal in this country or not. I registered to MBA program in University of Texas at El Paso.

Upon arranging registration, i was informed by International Office and Graduate office that Full-time MBA program(48 credits) costs 22000 or 24000 dollars. I thought it matched with the program so i chose this university. I registered right now and shocked when i saw they are asking me to pay 9200 dollars for 1 semester. It means whole program will cost almost 37000 dollars.

Are you kidding me seriously?

Is it normal? can they do that?

i feel like i went a restaurant and ask them if i order a steak how much it is and they told me 10 dollars however they billed me 25 dollars for it.

I feel like they ripped me off. I dont know what are my options but that is not fair.

Any idea about this case?

Other question is; 37000 is good for MBA or not? what is the average?

You may have a different number of credits in various semesters since schools often charge by credits/classes. I would probably talk to them first.

I've never heard about this program, but as bb said, it might vary by semester. You should ask them for a detailed breakdown of the costs. Another thing to consider: are you living on campus or paying for boarding/lodging to the university? Tuition only includes the educational expenses you pay. It might be that the additional money is for living expenses. They should give you an itemized bill either way

I will have meeting with MBA director on wednesday. They say that it is a fee $375 per courses. It is not written anywhere neither website or ads. It is hidden fee.

Do you have the figures you mentioned in writing or e-mail? If so, bring a copy along and talk to them nicely, it's quite a big difference.

When I came to the UK for uni, the admissions office asked me to pay 9,600 GBP/year, because I went to international school in Beijing, although I have an EU passport which makes me eligible for local tuition fees. I explained to the admissions staff that I was on a two year student visa to China and they virtually slashed a zero off the tuition (1000/year).

If you don't ask, then you won't get.

Hey

I have talked with advisors and MBA director. They said that they cant help me about it. It is the price of the MBA program. The thing bothering me is not the cost of MBA program,it is they didnt informed about a fee which is 375 per course. I am feeling like they just stole my money.

I have a meeting with dean on monday. I am trying all my chances but it looks like i will not get anthing.

I am not a resident, and it says that out-of-state student 28 thousands. But what they dont tell you is if you are not a resident you have to pay 375 dollars a fee per course. 28,000 became 37000 right now
