I recently scored a 700 on the test, and although happy, I was hoping for at least a 710. I scored a 48Q and 39V, which after reviewing various other scores, it seems that this score historically is a 710, or that a 47Q and 39V is a 700, or more recently, I even saw a 47Q, 38V as a 700. I'm not trying to be ungrateful, but it seems that given that I scored a point more on both Q and V, it should be 10 points higher. Is this worth inquiring about, or are AdComs more concerned with the Q and V score than the overall score? I dont want to email mba.com to ask questions if it wont get me anywhere. Its sad to say, but I feel like even a 700 is now on the edge for the top 10 programs.

It's often true that the same Q and V scores lead to slightly different scores out of 800. The scaled Quant and Verbal scores are rounded off, so one test taker with a Q48 and V39 might truly have 48.4 and 39.4 scores, and another test taker with a Q48 and V39 might truly have 47.6 and 38.6 scores. Those two test takers might deserve a slightly different score on the 800 scale - the score out of 800 is determined using the values before rounding.

Interesting, so in my case it seems that it likely in the 47 and 38 range then, given that the total was a 700.
