There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
Had applied for Fall 2013 PT evening and GOT dinged after 6 weeks. Thought had a good chance. Felt the essay and profile was good and interview went well too. GMAT score of 650 could be the only thing, wish they provided feedback. Anyone with re-application experience.
I would strongly advise you to review your essays and resume, and determine where you may be lacking. You may want to consider adding some extra volunteer activities. or pursue some additional leadership roles within your current job; assuming you do not already possess a strong list in these areas.
My GMAT score was not far off from yours, so I surmise that it was not your GMAT that dinged you.
Goodluck!

It is now 7 weeks since I applied and have not heard from Kellogg adcom. Got accepted to Booth which is my first choice so not very disappointed. Based on the discussion applying around R2 is better. You get quick decision compared to R1.
