I wholeheartedly agree with the rest of the gang. Congratulations on an awesome score! A 730 is amazing, and I don't think that any business school would possibly reject you because they're worried about your academic skills, even with the low-ish quant score. You've successfully checked the proverbial GMAT box, and your success in admissions will be determined by everything else in your application.

Congratulations on conquering the GMAT, and good luck with your applications!

You've checked the box, and the fact that you have a CFA and work in Finance should alleviate concerns about your ability to contribute to the classroom on the Quant side of things.

Hi bigfreezy2, congrats on the very nice score! As echoed above, don't bother trying this again, you've got a great score and going up or down by a few points won't change anything. Enjoy and be proud of your accomplishment!

Thanks!

Hi Bigfreezy2,

Great performance on the GMAT. No need to retake.

I was previously the Director of MBA Admissions at a top-ranked MBA program. We looked for two primary things in the GMAT - 1) can this candidate perform academically in our quantitatively rigorous program, and 2) how will this GMAT score impact our overall profile of students.

Re: 1 - Your CFA and professional experience in finance trump any GMAT quant score.

Re: 2 - 730 is an attractive overall GMAT score for any school

Now that this is over, it's time to move on to the b-school selection process (if you haven't already) and applications!

Congratulations!

Wendy

Thanks, everyone. Appreciate the feedback. I don't want to sound like I am not stoked with the score. I am. Just a bit surprised at the breakdown.

Glad to know the lowish quant score is not a red flag or something.
