This is an important consideration for an admissions decision. When I interviewed applicants in my former role as Director of Admissions, I always asked this question.

The learning in an MBA program comes not only from the faculty lectures, but also from the dynamic discussion and debate that occurs in the classroom. You learn from the past experiences of others, and they learn from your past experiences. Therefore, it is important to have a variety and depth of backgrounds in an MBA classroom.

To your question specifically, what is it about your background and experience that others can learn from? What expertise can you offer to discussions in an MBA classroom? Develop your response in 2-4 broad themes, and then have examples (stories) ready to provide evidence to your themes.

Good luck!
