Can someone please advise me on how to start preparing for the Verbal section of the GMAT. While i am about to start preparing seriously, looking at the question, it seems that i will be able to handle the Quant portion of the GMAT quite well.
However when it comes to the Verbal, it seems to me that i will have a tough time. One thing is that i am not a native Verbal speaker. Hence if i look at all the three types of questions on the GMAT verbal, i feel that i will have most problems in the sentence correction and the reading comprehension. I feel that i will be able to handle the critical reasoning part.
Also another thing that bothers me is that there is really too much material that is already available on the net. So how would i decide which the material is the best. Clearly i don't have the time or the bandwidth to go through "all" the material.

A strategy that worked for me was to work in increments on the verbal section. Improvements in SC come compartively easily so I first worked on SC. I went through the MGMAT guide for SC and then did some questions from the OG and other sources. Reviewed my mistakes. Took notes as to not repeat the same mistakes again. After that went through RC from MGMAT guide and attempted questions from OG. Reviewed my mistakes and took notes again. Same for CR but for CR - Power score CR bible is the resource i would recommend. Don't move on from a topic to the next unless you've done your best to cover the basics in detail. This will give you a stable platform to work from.
If I were you I would stick to OG for verbal questions and MGMAT guides and Power score CR bible. Once these were covered I'd get to town with the mock CATS.

I agree with the previous poster that you should tackle the verbal section strategically, methodically and with a plan. The OG is a great place to start cracking on Verbal questions. After you finish with the OG, you'll be in a good position to gauge what next step is right for you.
