An even number is one that divides evenly by 2, with no remainder. So yes, 0 is considered an even number. But it's neither positive nor negative. It is a member of the set of all integers, though, which seems to be a frequent trap in GMAT questions.

0 is an even number...

for those people that have studied math in foreign countries (esp India) 0 is not considered an even number, but the GMAT says it is even...so it must be so

But zero is still an even number, right?

Is 0 considered a positive integer?

ZERO:
1. 0 is an integer.
2. 0 is an even integer. An even number is an integer that is "evenly divisible" by 2, i.e., divisible by 2 without a remainder and as zero is evenly divisible by 2 then it must be even.
3. 0 is neither positive nor negative integer (the only one of this kind).
4. 0 is divisible by EVERY integer except 0 itself.
