Hello,
I have been lurking around GMAT club for quite a while. This is my post sharing my journey for GMAT.
Background:
IIT engineer , Working in financial services in Singapore, covering Asia. I am targeting a Top 10 school and I am interested in Investment management.
I have completed my CFA and FRM.
My GMAT exam ride has been a bumpy one. First attempt I scored a 710 (Q:50, V:37). I was not particularly happy with the score as I had read a lot about how competitive GMAT scores are , especially for Indian applicant pool. I used OG and Manhattan test. For my second attempt, I decided to use Manhattan SC, I could see my score improve in verbal part (not drastically) and was feeling confident. I had solved more than 800 questions for Quant and Verbal. After my GMAT exam, I was shattered to see a score of 710 again (Q-49, V-38). I felt I had hit a wall. Time running out, since I was targeting schools in R 1, I came across GMAT Pill.
I bought GMAT Verbal Pill and I found the mode of teaching very appealing. This time around I focused on core issues and practiced less and learned more. I concentrated on the core concepts for SC and RC. A day before my exam I scored a 770 on GMAT prep test (Q:51, V-42). Test day went smooth with no hiccups and when the final score flashed a 760, it was a sense of relief and obviously happiness.
Apologise for the short write up. I will add more details. Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
I am currently working on my round 1 applications. Fingers crossed!
