Hi,

I am an Indian National looking for MBA in Europe. The college that I am particularly interested in is IE Business School Spain. Also I am going for a Full time MBA, but recently I heard many reviews about the disadvantages of doing MBA from Europe, especially IE Business School Spain.

1. The placement for a Non native European citizen is almost impossible in European country mainly due to weaker economy, local language barrier etc. Are these talks true. Is it really the condition in Europe.

2. IE business school though good in terms of Study but not so favorable in terms of post MBA placements.

This might me answered but since I am new to this community it will be great if you can direct me to the original thread.

Thanks.
The thing about European MBA is that you are responsible for the job hunt. They will give your all the tools you need for that.
1. The main problem in getting a job here is Language. and its is all over the Europe.
2. As per the statistics. 92% get job withing 3 months. that is very good. (for INSEAD world no 1. its 90%)
with 30-35% in Europe. which is awesome.

So there is basically no disadvantage.
you gonna have to decide what you need. you will have to check your paybacks. and if it still makes sense. do it.
Thanks a lot buddy that was quick. I agree we have to see about paybacks. but I am right in the middle of a two way road and cannot decide on where to go.

1. I want to do MBA in Europe because of two reasons
a. More International Exposure.
b. One Year Program
c. Full Europe will be your Playground
But people in forums said that many people who have undertaken MBA in Europe are returning back to their native countries because of lack of jobs. I am looking for both change of sector and change of geography.

2. MBA in US can be an option but most of them require a very high GMAT score. Though my profile is good as per my research, I am hoping to get a GMAT score between 660 to 680 (yet to give Start of Oct 2016) my chances will be very low.

3. Asian University like Nanyang and NTU are good but are they regarded well in International MBA circle??

I can understand you dilemma, Most of the applicants have been through that.
1. - a) agreed
b) agreed
c) don't agree. Look at it this way. the better is the platform you use, better are the chances for getting job anywhere. Don't look for options that support only local jobs. You wanna do MBA, You gonna have to think globally the whole globe is your playground.

2. with 660 it will be difficult to get any good MBA. 680+ is good. Still, target 700-710.

3. As far as I understand they are also quite good. Ranking wise (though don't look too much into rankings) they are a bit lower than IIM A and ISB. But you need to research more here.

Hi All,

I recently interviewed Amber Wigmore Alvarez, Executive Director of Career Services for IE, and this was the first question I asked her: "What do non-EU applicants need to know about MBA placements in the EU?"

https://touchmba.com/spain-mba-careers/
(you can skip to 6:18 for the question)

She mentioned a new "entrepreneurship law" in Spain which allows for IE alumni setting up businesses / IE alumni working as a highly qualified professional in Spain (that can show a job offer) to be "fast track" reviewed and evaluated for work visas and residency (which is also granted to your spouse, if you have one).

I know this is a concern for many so wanted to get Amber's perspective on employment opportunities for non-EU MBAs in Spain. Hope this helps in some way...

Thank you that was all I wanted to know. The interview was thorough and complete in all forms. Clear maximum doubts of everyone who wish to pursue MBA in IE.
Thanks a lot buddy.

You should post this as a separate post too as it will help many candidates..
