What is the median of 5 consecutive integers?

What is the median of 5 consecutive integers?
1) The smallest number of them is 3
2) The largest number of them is 4

An easy one.

We are given 5 consecutive integers.

Statement 1 : Smallest is 3, So, Integers will be 3,4,5,6,7. Median = 5

Statement 2 : Largest is 4. So, Integers will be 0,1,2,3,4 Median = 2.

Although we are getting different answers for both the statements, which is very rare case for GMAT. But answer will still be D.

Can the answers in 2 statements be different? I have not seen it in GMAT official questions, but we should be prepared for surprises

That's a poor question, on the GMAT a DS question has never two contradicting statements. The statements do yield always the same result.
