I see this as arranging 3 people in a row. My answer would be 3!=3x2x1=6

I went with the construction:

3! (3 couples) * 2! * 2! * 2! = 48

2! signifies within couple ways.

Upon reading some other ways it seems slot method also works

6 * 1 * 4 * 1 * 2 * 1 = 48
