Good evening,
I am not exactly able to comprehend as to why option C is the correct answer.
I feel that the medical representative is placing a strong statement forward that no medications come without side effects. He needs to back up this statement with some facts. Hence i marked B.

It would be of great help if someone can provide the explanations to the options

Doctor: “My patients have asked me for an alternative to the medication I currently prescribe for high blood pressure. They claim that the medication causes night sweats and loss of appetite.”

Pharmaceutical representative: “That is an illogical request. No medications come without side effects, especially those used to treat high blood pressure.”

The representative’s response to the doctor’s argument is ineffective because it does which of the following?

A. It indirectly refutes the doctor’s primary assumption.
B. It assumes without justification that all medications have side effects.
C. It fails to consider the other medication could have different side effects.
D. It treats the doctor’s argument as if it were about just a few patients rather than a majority of patients.
E. It contradicts the doctor's request without offering an explanation.
IMO it is B. The representative's response is ineffective as he did not back it up with enough justification about side effects from all medicines.

here is my 2 cents worth of explanation : The Doctors says he has specific concern( Loss of Appetite and sleep or whatever) but the medical representative is generalizing the whole concept.
what if the doctor is looking for some medicine that only has one side effect or one different side effect that his patients could live with .. the representative here is not helping and stating " All medicines have side effects" even without understanding the doctors requirements.
